It is hard to believe we are quickly approaching the silly season and the end of another year.

I am thrilled to say that during 2014 Penrith RSL has continued to grow with the number of club members now exceeding 33,000; and as we approach the 100th anniversary of ANZAC Day in 2015 I believe our membership will increase even further.

Club membership is very important, not only in regards to strengthening the clubs future but the valuable part it plays in supporting our community. As a not for profit organisation your club provides financial support to the community that ensures intra-clubs and local charities remain strong. Your membership and patronage drives these programs and it is sincerely appreciated.

On a more strategic note, your Board of Directors and Executive Management team have been busy researching the club industry, local community and members’ needs to ascertain future requirements and improvements to your club. While only early days, I am confident that you will be impressed with the strategic direction the club will take over the coming years along with some significant improvements to the facilities provided in the club.

Don’t forget the club will again be open on Christmas day; and for those of you who would like to be spoilt by the fantastic food on offer at lunchtime in Star Buffet, I encourage you to bring the family, sit back, relax and enjoy the vast variety of sumptuous food. Maze Cafe will also be open on Christmas day for light snacks from 4.00PM to 9.00PM.

In the meantime please continue to enjoy your clubs facilities, great food, free entertainment and special events such as Melbourne Cup day, Christmas day and New Years Eve.

To all our members and their families I hope you have a safe and Merry Christmas and a very happy new year. Best wishes for 2015 and I look forward to seeing you in the club.
