Penrith RSL Club is committed to serving our community and to deliver a venue which provides an enjoyable and safe experience for all our members and visitors.
With the current uncertainty regarding COVID-19 and the Omicron variant and after consultation with many club members, Penrith RSL Club have decided to maintain the mandatory vaccination entry policy, currently in place, after 15 December.
This decision will allow our members peace of mind when visiting the club. As always, the safety, wellbeing and peace of mind of our members, guests and staff is our number one priority and at the forefront of our decisions.
All staff, members, guests and contractors will need to continue to show proof they are fully vaccinated, or have a medical exemption, and QR Code Check In before they are allowed entry. This policy includes patrons visiting our partner businesses – Star Buffet, Maze Grill & Café, Monkey Mania and Hair Affair.
The club will maintain the numerous procedures implemented to lessen the impact of COVID-19 transmission and monitor the information disseminated from NSW Health and ClubsNSW.
Penrith RSL will and reassess this decision at a later date with the best interest of our Penrith RSL community.
We thank you for your diligence and continued support.
The Club has made the decision to introduce a Mandatory Vaccination Policy for customers,employees and contractors, that will be reviewed ongoing, for the following reasons;
- The Club has obligations under the Work, Health and Safety Act, to do all things reasonably practicable to minimise the risk to the health and safety of its members and employees
- Advice provided to the Club, states that the COVID-19 vaccines available in Australia provide the best possible protection against severe disease and provide some protection against the transmission of disease
- As stated in the Public Health (COVID-19 General) Order 2021, “the risk and burden (to public health in NSW) is from and among people who remain unvaccinated because these people are more likely to be infected, more at risk of severe illness and death resulting from infection with SARS-CoV-2, and more likely to transmit the infection to others, than fully vaccinated people”
- While the Club is implementing other controls to mitigate the risk of COVID-19 transmission, as outlined in its COVID-19 Safety Plan, the level of mitigation from excluding those who are not fully vaccinated cannot be achieved through other available controls.
