SEPTEMBER

HOODOO GURUSHoodoo Gurus
Friday 5th September
Tickets: $30pp
Doors Open: 8pm

The Hoodoo Gurus will burn up the Lawson Showroom
stage on September 5th Like wow.
For two and a half decades the Hoodoo Gurus have consistently been one of the most inventive, lyrically smart and goddamn exciting rock’n’roll bands Australia has ever produced.

Oh yeah, and they’ve done it with style, panache and a wicked sense of humour. Along the way they’ve influenced an entire generation of bands which kinda explains why the likes of You Am I, The Living End, Dallas Crane, Grinspoon and many others queued up a few years back to pay tribute to the band’s 1984 debut album, Stoneage Romeos. This is definitely a must see band

CARL RISELEYShes The King
Saturday September 27th
Tickets: $25pp
Doors Open: 8pm

Like Australian Idol or not its true the show has revealed
some of Australia’s incredible talents and catapulted them
to stardom in a matter of weeks. Carl Riseley is one of
those amazing talents; with looks and vocals chords that
croon great songs like “This guys In Love”, You Give Me
Something, Me and Mrs Jones, For Once In My Life. Carl
Riseley has always been musical, but rather than with
singing, his adventure began as a trumpeter — in The Royal
Australian Navy band. It was only a recent switch to singing
for the navy rock band that saw him focus on his singing,
and then decide to give the Australian Idol auditions a
crack.

The year will see the release of Carl’s debut album, as well
as some exciting live performances and plenty of that
characteristic swing style. Hailed as the next Harry Connick
Jnr, there is no argument that the future is bright for this
young and incredibly talented musician. Carl Riseley is a
star and his here on September 27th.
