A Special Mention…….

Penrith RSL Club would like to make a special mention of the contributions of the Rattenbury family to our cricket club throughout the years.

Jack Rattenbury

Jack, along with Jack Parkes were the original founders of the Penrith RSL Cricket Club in July, 1948. It is understood that they met in the old drill hall in High Street, to instigate this.Jack played and captained the Club, & also played representative cricket in his career.Jack was the President of the Cricket Club for over 60 years. Jack is also a Life member of the Penrith RSL Club.

Mark Rattenbury

Mark is Jack’s son. Mark started playing as a 6 year old with the juniors and continued playing with the senior cricket club. Mark also captained the senior sides. Mark held committee positions for approximately 40 years.

Guy Rattenbury

Guy is also Jack’s son. Guy started playing with the juniors when he was about 12, & progressed to the seniors. Guy also played and captained the senior teams. Guy has also held the position of treasurer & secretary of the Senior Cricket Club.

It should also be noted that both Mark & Guys boys have also played for the Club, along with other family members, such as their cousins.

The Rattenbury Family are still heavily involved in the Penrith RSL Cricket Club today and are driving forces towards it’s ongoing success. The contribution that their family dynasty has made towards grassroots cricket in the Greater West is phenomenal and greatly appreciated by everyone at Penrith RSL Club. On behalf of the Board of Penrith RSL Club we would like to thank and congratulate the Rattenbury family on their commitment and efforts in keeping the Penrith RSL Cricket Club going strong.
