We are now 9mths into this year already, where has the
time gone?
Firstly I must mention I am writing this report on behalf
of our president Paula who recently passed away. She
wrote whilst she was in hospital and sent her love to all our members
and thanked them for the beautiful flowers, cards, phone calls and
visits she received.
Our bus trip in July took us to North Head where we saw the beautiful
State Coach Britannia that will be presented to the Queen on
completion. The builder Jim Frecklington OAM gave us a very
interesting insight into every piece that has gone into the building of
the coach.
After the July meeting 14 members organized a Xmas in July
Luncheon for both President Paula and Treasurer Margaret who were
too ill to join us on a trip to Robertson.
August 4th. Vale Treasurer Margaret Close.
We lost a wonderful and loving member this day who will never be
forgotten. Margaret had been our treasurer for 4 ½ years. She always
had a lovely smile on her face as she waited to read her report.
Margarets funeral was held at Pinegrove on 11th August. Our
members formed a guard of honour and each laid a red rose on her
casket. Our deepest sympathy to Maxie and family.
August bus trip was a historic visit around the Windsor area,The
oldest Church in Ebenezer built in 1809, Rose Cottage built in 1810
and Tizzana Winery built 1887.
September we visited Bardia Barracks at Ingleburn the National
Servicemen have built a project for information for School children
and adults to view the museum, library, static exhibits and Memorial.
Thank you to Fay Palin who has taken over as our tour organizer from
Val Chalker who has done a wonder full job for the past 3 ½ years well
done Val.
September 24th Birthday Luncheon Theme “FROGS” Thank you to
Secretary Pat for all the work she put into making the day a great
success. Our State President Mrs.Thelma Crawley OAM and
Husband and Councillor Mrs Clara Elliott were our official guests. Vice
President Elaine Wade welcomed everyone on behalf of our very ill
President Paula.
September 25th. Vale President Paula Bossard.
This must be the saddest news we have ever submitted to the Razzle
in our report. Paula passed away at 8pm. Thursday ,thank God she
is now out of pain.
Paula’s funeral was held at Pinegrove on Tuesday 30th at 10am,again
in just 7weeks we formed a guard of honour and laid red roses on the
casket for one of our executives, then members of the Auxiliary,
friends and relatives attended her wake at the RSL Club. Paula was
President for 30 years and will be sadly missed by all who new her.
Our deepest sympathy to her son Carl, niece Narelle and families.
