We now have in excess of 134 members and picking up new ones every month and are attracting 50 members and visitors to our meetings which is held at the Penrith R.S.L. Club on the 3rd Sunday of each month at 10.30am. Visitors are always welcome. Our President Harry Morfoot together with John Taylor, Tom Kelly, Trevor McDonald. Colin Johnson, Harry May, Stuart Kaye-Smith excelled themselves again by collecting $4,480 for Legacy recently and another record. The same members were out and around selling Rememberance Day Poppies on the 7th of November and collected $4,133 from people of Penrith, what a sterling effort by all.
The Canberra trip with 44 members enjoyed themselves from the 11th to the 13th October it was a huge success made possible by Tom Kelly who organised the whole trip. A great job Tom. A visit to the Ingleburn Military Precinct was made recently by a group of Penrith R.S.L. Ladies Auxillary and this was a huge success. Many of our members were Blue Mountains members at the Springwood Salvation Army Church Parade on the 2nd November. A great day.
Mark it in you diary now that will be holdng our National Servicemens Memorial Service in Victoria Park St. Marys on Sunday the 1st February 2009 commencing at 10.30am everyone is welcome. On a closing note, all of our members wish all the other Sub Branches and their families a very Merry Christmas and a prosperous and Happy New Year.
