At the time of writing our club had just completed the last round of
matches before the Christmas/New Year break. Our teams have
made a strong start to the season with nearly all in a position to
secure a place come finals time.
We are fielding one extra team on last season and there are a number of new players enjoying their first
season of cricket in the Under 9’s and 10’s. After many years, the
players are now wearing a new playing shirt, which has been
favourably received by all.
We have seen one century made so far by Anthony Gane, from 16
Gold, who scored 119 against Springwood. There have been two
players to take 5 wickets, both from 16 Blue, Timothy Ryan and
Stewart Wiles. Also in the bowling department, we have had one hat
trick, taken by Callum Nelson-Heckendorf from 14 Gold.
Congratulations on these fine achievements! Other notable
performances include:

club have been selected for NSW. Max McNamara was chosen in the
Under 19 team and Josh Clarke in the Under 17. Max competed in
the Under 19 National Championship held in Newcastle in December
and Josh travels to Perth in early January for the Under 17 National
Championship. We send our best wishes to both of these young men
for their continued success.
We had a number of players representing Penrith in the recent final of
both the Weblin and Watson Shields. Ryan Gibson was part of the
winning Weblin side and the following players were in the Watson
team: Leon Duke, Nick Adams, Curtis Shuttleworth and Anthony
Gane.
The committee of Penrith RSL Junior Cricket Club takes this
opportunity to wish all of our members and their families the very best
for 2009. We look forward to seeing everyone return in the New Year
