Asquith Bowling Club - 3rd May 2009
On a sunny Sunday, we travelled to Asquith Bowling Club for the second time, with 42 bowlers and 3 non-bowlers. Arriving at 11am we were welcomed by their bowls secretary Greg Cronan and his assistant Brian Kiely, who did not stop looking after us all day. After morning tea, we had a B.B.Q. lunch at midday.
As Asquith did not present any bowlers we were forced to select teams to play against one another. So we had 3 games of triples and 3 games of fours. Everyone had an enjoyable afternoon in the sun. We finished at 4pm and retired to the club for high tea, and presentations.
The lucky winners were Reg Hibbert (lead) Nancy Casey (second) Bob Lennie (Skip). President Tony thanked the club for their hospitality. With some spare time before the bus departed some members made the usual donations and some were lucky enough to take a little extra home. We departed at 5.15pm for a quick drive home.
